DESCRIPTION:One-off specially brewed beers\, scrummy sausages and the only professional oompah band on the planet are coming to Gloucester Guildhall this October for a dose of Bavarian brilliance. \nThe inaugural Glostoberfest will be held at the Eastgate Street venue on Saturday 24th October bringing a slice of Munich’s infamous Oktoberfest right here to Gloucester city centre. The event is being organised by Gloucester Guildhall and by the team who put together the annual beer festival at Gloucester Blackfriars. \nThere will be 12 real ales on offer (as well as a cider and a perry)\, including exclusive brews from local brewers\, a German Alt Bier from Hillside Brewery in Longhope and an Oktoberfest Special from Popes in Worcester. There will also be a one off brew from Corinium in Cirencester and German style beers from Malvern Hills\, Cotswold Spring\, Bristol Beer Factory and Tiny Rebel. \nNeil Richardson\, one of the organisers\, said: “The guys who have brought you the Gloucester Beer Festival for the last three years in Blackfriars are thrilled to be working with the chaps at the Guildhall in Gloucester again on what we are sure will be another great fun event promoting real ale in the city of Gloucester and who knows\, this could become a regular event too.” \nA £30 ticket gets you entry into the event\, four pints of beer\, food and entertainment.

DESCRIPTION:To celebrate their 15th anniversary American rock group Wheatus will be touring the UK this Autumn\, including a stop off at Gloucester Guildhall. \nKnown for their smash hit Teenage Dirtbag (which has had more than 54 million views on YouTube) the band will be playing their debut album in full at the gig on Tuesday 22nd September\, plus tracks from their other albums. \nWheatus last played the Guildhall in 2013 when tickets sold out\, and they are once again expected to be hot property. \n“Teenage Dirtbag is an absolute anthem\,” said Dan Charles\, programming and marketing manager at Gloucester Guildhall. “It’s hard to believe it was released as long ago as 2000. \n“People will also remember their cover of A Little Respect too no doubt. DESCRIPTION:It was the conflict of a generation and one that many will never forget. On the second of April 1982 Argentina invaded the Falklands Islands with the aim of recapturing them through a claim that they had inherited the islands from Spain in the1800’s. \nThe Islands\, which had been controlled by Great Britain for nearly 150 years\, became a battle ground and the UK government were quick to defend both the Islands and it’s inhabitants. What was to follow saw the deaths of 655 Argentine Soldiers and 255 British Serviceman. \nAmongst those who were sent to the conflict was Simon Weston OBE.
