A fantastic opportunity for locals\, businesses and spectators to support the event and cheer on the participants. \nMeeting point\nThe start and finish line is in the park opposite the Band Stand. \nOn the day\nDon’t forget to bring your friends and family along to support you. SUMMARY:Stiff Little Fingers
DESCRIPTION:Stiff Little Fingers were formed in 1977 in Belfast\, Ireland. Along with the likes of the Clash\, Sex Pistols\, The Jam\, Buzzcocks\, Undertones\, Sham 69\, Stranglers\, et al – Stiff Little Fingers were at the forefront of the punk movement. They wrote initially about their own lives\, growing up at the height of The Troubles in Northern Ireland\, in songs like “Suspect Device” and “Wasted Life”. In November of ’77\, they released those two songs on their own Rigid Digits label\, and sent a copy to BBC Radio One DJ John Peel\, who started playing it every night.

A series of inspired\, ambitious albums and amazing live shows combining full-on rock energy\, stylish sense of performance\, and humorous deadpan cool are not necessarily what anyone would have thought whenRay Burns and Chris Millar met in 1974. \nBurns and Millar — more famously known in later years as guitarist/singer Captain Sensible and manic drummer Rat Scabies — kept in touch as both struggled in the stultifying mid-’70s London scene. They went on to rub shoulders with the likes of The Sex Pistols and had a string of hits – the only difference is The Damned are still on the circuit smashing it all across the country!
