SUMMARY:Richie Ramone
DESCRIPTION:Richie Ramone is the fastest\, most powerful drummer who ever played with the legendary punk rock band the Ramones. He joined the Ramones in 1983 and first appeared with the band on their Subterranean Jungle tour.  \nRichie performed in over 500 shows around the world with the Ramones and wrote several critically-acclaimed and fan-favorite songs for the albums Animal Boy\, Too Tough to Die and Halfway to Sanity. Punk rock icon\, Joey Ramone\, remarked that “[Richie] saved the band as far as I’m concerned. He’s the greatest thing to happen to the Ramones. He put the spirit back in the band.”  \nRichie is notable as the only Ramones drummer to sing lead vocals on Ramones songs\, “(You) Can’t Say Anything Nice” as well as the unreleased “Elevator Operator.” Richie was also the only drummer to be the sole composer of Ramones songs including their hit “Somebody Put Something in My Drink” which remained a staple in the Ramones set list until their last show in 1996 and continues to be covered by new generations of bands worldwide. “Somebody Put Something in My Drink” was included on “Ramones Mania\,” the only Ramones album to go gold as well as “Loud\, Fast Ramones: Their Toughest Hits\,” an album comprised of songs hand picked by Johnny Ramone as the Ramones’ best works. Richie also wrote “I’m Not Jesus\,” “Can’t Say Anything Nice\,” “I Know Better Now\,” “Humankind” and “Smash You” which became the title track for one of the Ramones’ most successful re-releases\, Smash You: Live ’85. Richie’s “I’m Not Jesus” took the Ramones in a heavier direction and has become a frequent cover tune for innumerable heavy metal bands. Richie’s songwriting contributions were supported by Joey Ramone: “I encouraged Richie to write songs . . . we never let anybody else write our songs.”

DESCRIPTION:Horace Andy is a Jamaican singer-songwriter known as the sweetest voice in reggae and for his long association with British trip-hop band Massive Attack. He was born as Horace Hinds on February 19 1951 in Kingston and is also known as “Sleepy” He has become an enduring voice on the Jamaican music scene. Note his signature early 1970s hit\, ‘Skylarking’defining his ability to deliver songs of black determination and social commentary and it topped the Jamaican charts…. but he equally delivers songs of love. \nWorking with Coxsone Dodd in the early days Andy recorded tunes like ‘See A Man’s Face’and the well-received “Mr Bassie” Andy has consistently recorded and performed around the world in his own right with his band and has remained massive in reggae subgenres roots reggae\, rocksteady\, lover’s rock and dancehall. In 1990\, he was discovered by the Bristol based trip-hop band Massive Attack\, who cited Andy’s work as a major influence. He recorded the song\n“One Love” for their 1991 debut album\, Blue Lines and the band’s popularity exposed Andy to a younger\ngeneration of fans\, many of whom continue to seek out his earlier work. After Massive Attack launched\ntheir own label\, Melankolic\, they released Skylarking\, a compilation of Andy’s career hits. Andy is the only singer of Massive Attack’s rotating group of guest artists to appear on each one of the band’s albums. He continues to tour worldwide with Massive.\nHorace Andy is delighted to be part of your event and will bring you all hit after hit of fine reggae music. He is known as HORACE ‘Sleepy’ANDY\, and has the sweetest voice in reggae music!
