The toys and merchandise of the film took the world by storm and became the must-have playthings for an entire generation. From 1977 to 1985\, an estimated 300 million action figures were sold\, allowing children to re-enact the adventures of Luke Skywalker\, Princess Leia and Han Solo. \nMay The Toys Be With You is both a celebration of the now highly collectable vintage toy line and also of the iconic design work and art of the Star Wars movies. From X-Wing Fighters to lightsabers\, these fantastical designs have fired our imaginations and stamped their place on our cultural landscape. DESCRIPTION:Come to the National Waterways Museum Gloucester this half-term and get up close to some absolutely amazing reptiles and invertebrates. On Wednesday 31st May Jonathan’s Jungle Roadshow is joining us for two\, 90-minute informative sessions at 11am and 1pm. The sessions sold out last time so book now to secure your place. \nMuseum visitors with an annual ticket or Canal & River Trust Membership can book a session with Jonathan’s road show jungle onboard our boat Sabrina 5\, a fully-accessible floating classroom. \n Tickets are £6 per child which includes up to one adult for free. Any additional adults will need to buy a ticket as space is limited.\n The session is suitable for age 4 and up – the 90-minute session might not be suitable for younger children.\n Children need to be accompanied by an adult throughout.\n The 90-minute sessions will run at 11am and 1pm\n To book your place email gw*@*****************rg.uk with the session time you would like and the number of children and adults in your group. DESCRIPTION:International Children’s Day is back! \nFor the second year running we will be celebrating a fun children’s day at Gloucester Park – a wonderful event organised by the Polish Association Gloucestershire and the Polish parish in Gloucester. \nThe origin of this holiday goes back to 1925\, when representatives from different countries met in Geneva\, Switzerland\, to convene the first “World Conference for the Wellbeing of Children”. There was no specific day recommended\, however\, many countries – including Poland – established 1st June as The International Children’s Day. This day is not as commonly known in Great Britain\, which is why Polish Association Gloucestershire have decided to familiarise the people of Gloucester with this fun event\, hoping it will become a permanent fixture in the local cultural calendar.\n \nInternational Children’s Day will take place on Saturday\, 1st June at Gloucester Park between 12 pm and 5 pm. The organisers have prepared lots of attractions\, as well as a rich cultural program. \nBouncy castles\, rides\, face painting and a falconry show are just a few of the activities awaiting children at the park. Entertainment will be provided by the theatre group TeArtico\, Non-Stop Kids Entertainment Ltd.\, mascots from Buffoo Celebrations and Mascots and well-known characters from Enchanting Story Book Parties. Also\, it wouldn’t be a traditional British party without Punch and Judy making an appearance! \nYou are warmly invited to celebrate this wonderful day with us! \nThe event is co-financed by the National Lottery Community Fund and supported by Gloucester City Council\, Marketing Gloucester\, Gloucester BID and Polish Store Biedronki.
