DESCRIPTION:Everyone loves a bargain and this summer there’s more reason than ever to hunt some out in Gloucester’s own treasure trove of charity shops. \nPre-loved clothes\, brilliantly retro homewares and vintage finds – there’s something extra special about rooting them out for a steal\, while supporting worthwhile causes along the way. And now there’s more incentive than ever to visit the city centre’s amazing network of charity outlets and nose through all they have to offer\, by taking part in the Second Hand Summer Challenge. \nSimply pick up a stamp card with any purchase at a participating charity shop\, collect six stamps in total and you’ll be in with a chance of winning a Gloucester Gift Card to spend on whatever you like and keep supporting city centre retailers. \nWe have some amazing city centre charity shops taking part this year and this is how you can get involved: \n\nPick up a loyalty stamp card from one of the participating charity shops.\nVisit and purchase from at least three of the participating charity shops to qualify to enter the prize draw.\nCollect six stamps on your card on six different visits before 16th August 2024.\nOnce the you have collected six stamps\, fill in the card and hand it into any of the charity shops’ collection points and be in with a chance to win one of the super prizes!\nWatch out for the different T&Cs in the different shops i.e. spend £3+\nIf you complete a stamp card – you can start a new one!\n\nThere are also workshops and demonstrations being planned. DESCRIPTION:Gloucester Goes Retro is coming back on Saturday\, 24 August 2024! \n​One of the highlights of the city’s vibrant festival calendar\, Gloucester Goes Retro features over 500 classic vehicles filling the historic Gate Streets and Gloucester Docks. You will find famous car brands from yesteryear including Aston Martin\, Jensen\, Bentley\, Triumph\, Morris and Alvis to name just a few. Incredible vehicles from the 1900s through the Roaring Twenties and the War Years to the gleaming chrome of the fifties\, the iconic designs of the Swinging Sixties\, sports cars from the eighties and an instant nostalgia hit from nineties classics. \nThere’s an amazing array of nautical activities at Retro on the Water from boat trips to aquatic displays. There’s delicious food and drink aplenty\, as well as vintage fashion and shopping. \nFor music and dance enthusiasts\, visit the Mariners Square Stage where you’ll be serenaded by a host of retro acts and get your boogie on with swing dancing.​ We’ve also got 80’s Cheese and Cool Britannia-inspired 90s music over on our Kings Square stage\, overseen by the incredible young musicians of The Music Works. \n​There is so much to see and do at Gloucester Goes Retro\, don’t miss it!
