Could Fred West have used SECOND cafe to murder and dispose of victims

Could more bodies be buried under a SECOND cafe in Gloucester?

It has emerged Fred West owned The Green Lantern cafe in Southgate Street with his father-in-law.

The cafe has since been demolished and a block of flats built on the site.

Police are continuing to search the Clean Plate Cafe on the same street in Gloucester City Centre.

They are searching for a body linked to a girl feared to have been murdered by Herefordshire serial killer Fred West.

Officers were called to the cafe on Friday by a production company filming a documentary there.

15-year-old Mary Bastholm went missing in 1968.

A rent book on display at the Crime Through Time Museum at Littledean Jail shows the signatures of Fred and Rose West. They leased the Green Lantern cafe for £80 a month from a Mrs Wagner.

The Sun newspaper have reported a row of old garages close to West’s former property is also said to have been used by him in the 1970’s, raising concerns of more bodies there.

West’s father-in-law Bill Letts was also a depraved sadist who sexually abused daughter Rose.

He lived in a flat with wife Daisy above The Green Lantern Café.

Fred West is known to have met one of his victims, pregnant Shirley Robinson, at the Green Lantern Café.

She was murdered, dismembered and buried at the Wests’ family home at 25 Cromwell Street.
