Gloucester’s Tourist Information Centre has relocated to the Museum of Gloucester in Brunswick Road. Entry to the museum will now be free, although special exhibitions will incur a small charge.

In the coming months, after the work needed to accommodate it is carried out, the TIS will also be available from Gloucester Guildhall.

This ensures that the award winning service will become more accessible to a wider range of customers and follows recognition of the growing trend of online and digital visitor information services, including online ticket sales.

These changes should see a saving of £38k as well as an increased footfall to the museum.

Councillor Lise Noakes, cabinet member for culture and leisure at Gloucester City Council said, “The same excellent service will continue and visitors can now easily visit our museum free of charge. Many local businesses recognise the value of co-locating and as a modern day council we should be adaptable and always thinking about how we can provide the best possible service whilst making the most efficient use of taxpayer’s money.”

The Museum of Gloucester incorporating the TIS will be open 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday 10am – 5pm.
