Gloucester City Council has now appointed LDA Design and Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) to carry out the regeneration work of Kings Quarter.
The tendering process was six weeks long and closed in October this year. It was a successful and competitive process with more than 90 expressions of interest submitted.
The new contractors, LDA Design and JLL will start working straight away. Initially the priority will be working with the regeneration team for three days a week, focusing on the design and business plan for the project.
Cllr Paul James, leader of the city council and cabinet member for regeneration, said: “We’re delighted to be working with LDA and JLL on one of the city’s most important regeneration scheme. This demonstrates our continued determination to deliver this project to the benefit of the city.”
Esther Croft from LDA, said: “We can’t wait to start on this exciting regeneration project. It will make a very visible difference to the area surrounding Kings Square and the train station.”
