Police are warning people to make sure their sheds are secure following a spate of thefts in Gloucester.

Officers are investigating a series of incidents throughout this week.

  • Two properties in Rumsey Close, Abbeydale during the night of 11th and 12th May where bikes and fishing equipment was taken.  A vehicle was also entered at the same location but no property was stolen.
  • Newstead Road in Barnwood where a garage was entered at about 2.15am on the morning of 12th May.  The occupant was disturbed by the noise made by the offender but he saw nobody when he looked out.  A bright orange Voodoo “Mizango” mountain bike was stolen.
  • Two adjacent properties in Painswick Road, near the junction with Garnalls Road, had their sheds attacked during the night of 9th and 10th May. A tool box, fishing kit and electric bike indicators were taken.
  • Two persons were disturbed breaking into a shed in Buddleia Close, Abbeymead at 1.30am on 10th May. The police attended quickly but found no trace of the offenders.
  • Around 4am on 11th May a shed in Ashton Close, Abbeydale was entered and 2 Carrera Mountain bikes stolen.
  • Fishing kit and a power drill was stolen from a shed in The Wheatway Abbeydale overnight on 9th and 10th May.

Investigating officers say all the sheds were secure but the padlocks were cut off and side gates or fences were used to get access to the sheds.
