DESCRIPTION:Horace Andy is a Jamaican singer-songwriter known as the sweetest voice in reggae and for his long association with British trip-hop band Massive Attack. He was born as Horace Hinds on February 19 1951 in Kingston and is also known as “Sleepy” He has become an enduring voice on the Jamaican music scene. Note his signature early 1970s hit\, ‘Skylarking’defining his ability to deliver songs of black determination and social commentary and it topped the Jamaican charts…. but he equally delivers songs of love. \nWorking with Coxsone Dodd in the early days Andy recorded tunes like ‘See A Man’s Face’and the well-received “Mr Bassie” Andy has consistently recorded and performed around the world in his own right with his band and has remained massive in reggae subgenres roots reggae\, rocksteady\, lover’s rock and dancehall. In 1990\, he was discovered by the Bristol based trip-hop band Massive Attack\, who cited Andy’s work as a major influence. He recorded the song\n“One Love” for their 1991 debut album\, Blue Lines and the band’s popularity exposed Andy to a younger\ngeneration of fans\, many of whom continue to seek out his earlier work. After Massive Attack launched\ntheir own label\, Melankolic\, they released Skylarking\, a compilation of Andy’s career hits. Andy is the only singer of Massive Attack’s rotating group of guest artists to appear on each one of the band’s albums. He continues to tour worldwide with Massive.\nHorace Andy is delighted to be part of your event and will bring you all hit after hit of fine reggae music. DESCRIPTION:One-off specially brewed beers\, scrummy sausages and the only professional oompah band on the planet are coming to Gloucester Guildhall this October for a dose of Bavarian brilliance. \nThe inaugural Glostoberfest will be held at the Eastgate Street venue on Saturday 24th October bringing a slice of Munich’s infamous Oktoberfest right here to Gloucester city centre. The event is being organised by Gloucester Guildhall and by the team who put together the annual beer festival at Gloucester Blackfriars. \nThere will be 12 real ales on offer (as well as a cider and a perry)\, including exclusive brews from local brewers\, a German Alt Bier from Hillside Brewery in Longhope and an Oktoberfest Special from Popes in Worcester. There will also be a one off brew from Corinium in Cirencester and German style beers from Malvern Hills\, Cotswold Spring\, Bristol Beer Factory and Tiny Rebel. \nNeil Richardson\, one of the organisers\, said: “The guys who have brought you the Gloucester Beer Festival for the last three years in Blackfriars are thrilled to be working with the chaps at the Guildhall in Gloucester again on what we are sure will be another great fun event promoting real ale in the city of Gloucester and who knows\, this could become a regular event too.” \nA £30 ticket gets you entry into the event\, four pints of beer\, food and entertainment.
