Veteran singer/songwriter Alex Davies has been a regular performer on the Gloucestershire music scene since moving to the Forest of Dean in 2015. His attempts to record a follow up to his 1978 debut album have been repeatedly stymied, most recently by lockdown which struck as he was about to start recording in 2020, but he remains optimistic that something might happen soon – if he can himself get motivated. On this year’s folk trail he will be presenting a selection of his wry, often tongue in cheek observations on life in songs that discuss the important issues of today: politics, religion, death, growing old, Covid, the environment, dogs and, of course, property developers.  We are on the brink of a new era, if only…
