Developers want to build 257 homes in a village near Gloucester.

Taylor Wimpey UK Ltd has submitted plans to Tewkesbury Borough Council to develop the land north of Innsworth Lane in Innsworth.

The reserved matters application details the appearance, landscape, layout and scale for the 257-home estate which was previously granted outline planning permission.

And the scheme includes 176 open market houses and 81 affordable homes.

The open market properties include two two-beds, 124 three-beds and 48 four bedroom homes.

The affordable homes include five one bed apartments and four two bed flats and there would be a range of two bed, three bed and four bedroom affordable houses.

The development is phase five of the plans for 1,300 homes and 20 acres of employment land planned for Innsworth.

Consultants working on the proposals say the affordable housing is evenly distributed through the site and the layout and appearance of the scheme has been designed tenure-blind to ensure the homes would not be easily distinguishable from the market housing.

The site is divided into three neighbourhoods, a contemporary zone, a traditional area and a green corridor. The homes in each neighbourhood have been designed to reflect that.

The new phase five development includes secondary streets that would connect to the vehicle and pedestrian routes within the surrounding development and to the main spine road which links to Innsworth Lane and the A40, as well as an access link onto Frog Furlong Lane.

Residents can comment on the proposals and have until December 9 to do so.

This can be done online via Tewkesbury Borough Council’s planning portal and quoting the planning reference number 22/01225/APP. Planners are expected to consider the scheme by January 9, 2023.
