Gloucester City Council have some further business relief funding – Covid Additional Relief Fund (CARF), which is for business rate account payers for the financial year 2021-22 only.
Eligibility Criteria:
• it is for those business ratepayers only who have not been able to access other business rate reliefs (like the ‘business rate holiday’ expanded retail discount for retail, hospitality and leisure)
• the business must have been adversely affected by the pandemic and unable to adequately adapt to the impact of Covid-19
• the business must be able to adequately demonstrate and evidence a financial loss as a direct result of the impact of Covid-19
• the business must have been in occupation of the business premises for the entire financial year April 2021 to March 2022
We have granted this relief directly to those businesses who we believe are eligible from our records and are in the process of issuing revised bills to those eligible businesses.
However, in case we have inadvertently omitted any business we will be opening up a grant application window from 01 June 2022 – 14 June 2022.
Applications are invited from any business who believes they may be eligible but have not received the relief – further details about the CARF relief (and a downloadable application form from 01 June) are on the councils website here: Business Rates and business grants – Gloucester City Council
