Recently vacated premises on Westgate Street, Hubble Bubble Café, has been transformed into a wonderful Christmas wonderland.

With permission from the owners of the building, Gloucester BID organised for two of their reindeers to have pride of place, along with an array of fabulous festive decorations, courtesy of the Gloucester Antiques Centre.

And what a wonderful scene they make! Many thanks to the volunteers for their hard work and creative prowess.

Toby Wooldridge, acting manager for Gloucester BID, said: ‘‘We identified this particular empty shop because it has a large and prominent window space which is ideal for a seasonal display.

“Working with the owner and Gloucester Antique Centre, we have installed two of the Gloucester BID reindeer. These were used as a trail around the city last Christmas, and for this year we wanted to group them in prominent positions for people to enjoy.

“There are 10 around the city centre, in three groups. These reindeer were decorated by various artists based at Jolt, and by placing them in groups the impact is quite dramatic.

“Along with the window dressing provided by the antique centre, this empty shop in Westgate Street has been transformed. Immediately the scene is lifted and people are taking photos.

“Gloucester BID are keen to carry this concept into 2023 and to utilise other empty shops where permissions are given.’’
