Gloucester will come alive with music, dance and creativity as the Gloucester Folk Trail returns from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 February 2026, celebrating folk traditions old and new across the city.

Organised by Gloucester BID, the Gloucester Folk Trail is a vibrant, largely free, city-wide festival showcasing the very best of folk music, dance, craft and community spirit. Over the course of the weekend, residents and visitors alike can enjoy live performances, hands-on workshops and family-friendly activities in venues throughout Gloucester.

The programme features live folk music from local and regional artists, traditional and contemporary performances, Morris dancing in the city’s streets, community sing-alongs and lively ceilidhs. Alongside the music, visitors can take part in creative workshops, including folk-inspired crafts and making sessions, offering something for all ages and interests.

The Gloucester Folk Trail is designed to be inclusive and welcoming, whether you are a lifelong folk enthusiast or discovering the genre for the first time. Local venues, pubs, cafés and cultural spaces will host events across the weekend, helping to create a warm and festive atmosphere while supporting the city’s hospitality and creative sectors.

Emily Gibbon, manager of Gloucester Business Improvement District, said:
“The Gloucester Folk Trail is all about celebrating our city’s rich cultural heritage while bringing people together. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy live music, try something creative and experience Gloucester at its most vibrant and welcoming.”

Most events are free to attend, although some workshops and performances may require advance booking or tickets. A full programme, venue listings and booking information will be available online.
