Gloucester is set to shine this spring as residents, students, and local workers are invited to roll up their sleeves and take part in the Gloucester Spring Clean, a community-driven event designed to bring people together while giving the city a well-deserved refresh.
Organised by Gloucester BID in partnership with Gloucester City Council, and supported by UBICO, Suez and Gloucestershire Constabulary, the event promises to be more than just a tidy-up, it’s a celebration of community spirit, civic pride, and collective action.
Taking place from 11am to 2pm, volunteers will gather outside Gloucester Guildhall on Eastgate Street before heading out across the city to help clear litter, brighten shared spaces, and make a visible, positive impact.
Whether you can spare an hour or the full session, every contribution counts. From small acts to big efforts, volunteers will play a vital role in helping Gloucester look its best as the season changes.
Emily Gibbon, Manager at Gloucester BID, said “This is about more than just cleaning up. It’s about bringing people together, meeting new faces, and taking pride in the place we all share. When a community comes together like this, the impact goes far beyond the day itself.”
Adding to the day’s activities, Gloucestershire Constabulary will be stationed in Kings Square with their Community Engagement Vehicle, offering free bike marking and hosting a crime prevention pop-up shop, giving attendees even more reason to get involved.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own gloves and tools, wear comfortable clothing, and come ready to make a difference.
