We are proud to announce the return of the Big Pub Push, a week-long celebration of the city’s vibrant pub culture, running from October 20th to 26th, 2025. This year’s campaign promises to be bigger and better, spotlighting the essential role pubs play in the social and cultural fabric of Gloucester.
At the heart of the celebrations is an exclusive ale brewed specially for the occasion, crafted in collaboration with local brewers. This limited-edition beer will be available in participating pubs throughout the city, with a “Meet the Brewer” event giving enthusiasts a chance to learn about the brewing process and the inspiration behind the celebratory pint.
The Big Pub Push is more than just a toast to good beer—it’s a rallying call to support Gloucester’s pubs as vital community hubs. From historic inns to modern craft beer bars, the campaign showcases the diversity and resilience of the city’s hospitality scene. Visitors and locals alike can enjoy live music, pub quizzes, tap takeovers, food specials, and exclusive offers throughout the week.
Adding a historical twist to the celebration, Gloucester BID has partnered with the Gloucester Civic Trust to offer guided walking tours titled “The Story of Gloucester’s Pubs and Inns.” These 75-minute tours will delve into the rich heritage of Gloucester’s drinking establishments – tickets are only £7.00 – Book Here
