A building in central Gloucester is to be redeveloped as the new home for many of the city’s community mental health services.

2gether NHS Foundation Trust has purchased Pullman Place, in Great Western Road.

The four-storey building will provide high quality, purpose designed clinic space and office accommodation for services.

Jan Furniaux, Service Director for 2gether’s Gloucestershire Localities, said: “This is the next in a series of planned developments, as part of our ongoing commitment and investment in the continued quality improvement of our services.

“We’ve recently opened our Forest of Dean Hub, in Cinderford, our refurbished Stroud Hub, at Weavers Croft, and also the Fritchie Centre, our base for our research team and Managing Memory 2gether service, in Cheltenham.

“Pullman Place will become our new Gloucester Hub and is the perfect location, being in the centre of the city with very good public transport links. It is also near to other health and social care partner premises, such as Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, and is close to our own Wotton Lawn Hospital.

“We’re investing in new premises, recognising that we need to continue meeting the changing needs of our local communities and provide the best possible accommodation from which to deliver our high quality services. This development will benefit service users, carers and also our own staff.”

Teams moving into Pullman Place from late 2016 are currently based in different premises in and around the City of Gloucester.

Service users and carers directly benefitting by the move will be notified by letter and in person by their Care Coordinator as and when the services they use are moving.
