On Friday 22nd July Gloucester City Homes (GCH) launched its third new housing development in Matson this year. The development at St Peters Road compromises of five properties, a mixture of two apartments and three houses.
The building has commenced following Gloucester City Homes (GCH) becoming an independent housing association. As a commitment to tenants GCH promised to build 100 new homes within 4 years. So far 33 homes have been built with a further 32 planned within the next year, making a strong start.
The launch gave the opportunity for the new tenants, residents from the area, those working in the community and dignitaries to look around the much-needed new homes. Feedback was positive and many people were impressed by the new development.
Ashley Green, Chief Executive of GCH said: “We have made a strong start already and are looking forward to regenerating areas of Gloucester such as Matson to provide more high quality affordable homes.”
The new residents are looking forward to moving in next week, one commented: “We are so pleased to have the opportunity to move into one of the new houses; they are great and just what my family needs. My children won’t all have to share a room and there is a secure garden, which we are over the moon with.”
