People at risk of parking charges in Gloucester Docks by | Gloucester News Centre - http://gloucesternewscentre.co.uk/
Motorists who park at Gloucester Docks are at risk of getting caught out by the overnight charge.
People who buy a ticket to park at the Southgate Moorings car park before 6pm have to make sure they have also the overnight taiff included as the time on their parking ticket does not automatically carry over into the evening.
It can be very easy for people to fall foul of this if they buy a ticket for a few hours around 5pm. They may end up with a parking fine for not having a valid ticket when they think they have paid enough to park for several hours.
A spokesperson for Gloucester City Council said: “Southgate Moorings car park operates two tariffs, a daytime rate until 6pm and an evening rate from 6pm until 7am.
“Customers can pay for both the daytime and evening rate at the same time at the machine if they intend to stay beyond 6pm. The ‘Just Park’ app allows customers to pay for the daytime and evening rate in one transaction for their stay.”
If anyone has been caught out by this and would like to speak out please get in touch by emailing .
