Please help Teckels Animal Sanctuaries win a M&S Energy Community Grant

Spare 30 seconds and vote online for Gloucester based animal rescue charity, Teckels Animal Sanctuaries’ campaign to be awarded a M&S Energy Community Grant.

Teckels has applied for funding to cover the installation costs for an Air Source Heat Pump.

They now need members of the public to vote for them. Only charities or community groups who collect the most online votes between 1 September-10 October are likely to win funding.

Unsurprisingly, Teckels uses a large amount of hot water on a daily basis, mainly through the use of washing machines to clean blankets and bedding for the animals in their care. Washing machines are on the go at least twelve hours every day.

With no gas connection on-site, hot water is currently provided by an electric immersion heater, which is expensive to run, meaning vital funds are being used on electricity bills when they could be allocated to improve the animals’ mental well-being, help fund Centre improvements and ultimately enable the Charity to take in and help more animals in need.

An Air Source Heat Pump will reduce the cost of providing hot water. It is anticipated that all of Teckels hot water can be provided by the Air Source heat pump, saving up to 60% in energy use and over 16,600kg of CO2 per annum!
