Police are currently carrying out a firearms search at a property in Tredworth.
Gloucestershire Police says a firearm was retrieved from a vehicle after being stopped in Regent Street yesterday evening.
A search is being carried out at a house in Bathurst Road in connection with the incident.
Four men, two aged 25, one aged 18, one aged 46, have been arrested and are currently in custody.
