The Eastgate Shopping Centre Makes Mother’s Day For Lucille Davis by Shaun Moore | Gloucester News Centre - http://gloucesternewscentre.co.uk/
Last Sunday, the Eastgate Shopping Centre in Gloucester rolled out the red carpet for a very special local mother.
Lucille Davis, was nominated by her daughter Holly Palmer in a competition run at the Centre to win a makeover and a new outfit and accessories.
Judges from shops within the Centre including Supercuts, H&M, Marks and Spencer, Select selected Lucille from dozens of nominations.
“Despite losing her son to myeloma and discovering her mother had cancer my mum has still always been there to support me, my brothers and my nephew”, said Holly. “She is our rock. Without her I wouldn’t have gotten into university and my younger brother, who was never meant to be able to talk, can now drive and attends Hartpury College.
It’s all down to my mum and she deserves to be spoilt”.
Lucille’s day started with a coffee and a consultation with stylist Didde Thomsen-Wasilewski.
The pampering then continued with make-up by local make-up artist Nikki Hudson at Supercuts where she was also presented with a selection of hair care products.
It was then time for a light lunch at Boswells Café.
Because daughter Holly was not able to enjoy the retail therapy session, Mother, Lucille, decided to surprise Holly by using some of her prize to get an H&M shopping voucher and flowers from M&S – Just another example of what a great mum Lucille is.
After this it was time to update Lucille’s wardrobe and she and stylist Didde headed off to M&S to fashion a new look for the super-mum.
At M&S Lucille chose some navy cropped spring trousers with a matching top plus a classic top and shirt in a spring yellow and a handbag which she had been coveting for some time but had been unable to afford.
At the end of a hard day’s shopping Lucille was thrilled with the result and ‘made-over’ with her treat.
“Thank you to everyone involved in making this a tremendous day”, said Lucille. “I had never had my makeup done before but the lovely Nikki really put me at ease and it looks lovely. I want to thank my daughter for nominating me for this truly special day”.
“Families are the foundation of our shopping centre and the local community,” said Jason Robinson, Eastgate Shopping Centre Manager. “We cannot think of a more fitting way to celebrate our local family of shoppers than to provide a real treat for mothers like Lucille and we hope a lot of other shoppers will be treating their mums to gifts and goodies from our shops and stores.”
