The Real Greek, the UK’s only group of authentic Greek restaurants, has partnered with plant-based meat brand Eatplanted to launch a tasty Veganuary Menu at all its restaurants across the UK throughout January 2023. Including their one in our very own Gloucester Quays.
The new Veganuary Menu, designed by Michelin Star-awarded Greek chef Nikos Karathanos, will offer tempting vegan plates that combine The Real Greek’s classic Aegean twist with Eatplanted’s tasty meat alternatives that use only natural and clean ingredients, alongside firm vegan favourites from The Real Greek’s classic menu. Using only peas, sunflower and oats, with a dash of rapeseed oil, water and Vitamin B12, Eatplanted offers juicy unique plant-based meat that promise the perfect meaty bite.
Priced at £11.95 per person, plant-based and meat-eaters alike can choose four of their favourite meze dishes that can be shared and enjoyed between family and friends.
Diners can start with Greek Flatbread or Crudites, before choosing one dish from a selection of cold meze including new Vegan Tzatziki – served with a whole green olive; Santorini Fava topped with a salsa of tomatoes, onions, capers and caper powder; Houmous topped with paprika and roasted red peppers and Beetroot Salad mixed with soya yoghurt and drizzled with a tangy orange vinaigrette.
Diners can then choose one hot meze dish, including the new Eatplanted Vegan Chicken Monastiraki served with vegan tzatziki, onion and tomatoes; or Eatplanted Vegan Pulled Pork served on a bed of tahini sauce; Vegan Meatballs (Soutzoukakia) served in a tomato and cumin sauce or the traditional Cauliflower Yahni – gourmet twist from Executive Michelin-star Chef – Nikos Karathanos – served on a bed of herby cauliflower rice.
This is accompanied by a Side dish, with choices including Aegean Slaw served with an olive oil dressing, New Potatoes tossed with olive oil and oregano or Pourgouri (Bulgur Wheat) with tomatoes and onion.
With all the fun and energy of quintessential Greek dining, in addition to the Veganuary Menu, The Real Greek is perfect for dates, family get-togethers and catch ups with friends. Its traditional Greek hospitality always delivers a buzzing atmosphere and occasional live entertainment makes it the ideal location for birthdays, anniversaries and parties.
The Veganuary Menu will be available all of January 2023 for lunch and dinner and priced at £11.95 per person for four dishes.
