Two teenagers have been sentenced to prison for a total of 26 months for attacking a vulnerable man in Tewkesbury.
Samantha Thomas, aged 19, of Despencer Road, Priors Park in Tewkesbury was handed a 10 month custodial sentence and Tyler Doyle, aged 18, of Second Crossing Road in Walton Cardiff was handed a 16 month custodial sentence.
They both pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm yesterday (Thursday 16 June) at Gloucester Crown Court.
At around 8.15pm on Tuesday 22 March, Thomas flicked a used cigarette at the 24-year-old victim and his partner as they walked past each other on Abbots Walk. The victim questioned her actions and then Thomas and Doyle became violent towards him. Doyle punched the victim to the floor and kicked him in the head. Thomas also repeatedly kicked and stamped on the victim.
The victim sustained several injuries including a chipped tooth, bruising, two black eyes and cuts to his face and head.
Insp David Goga, of the Tewkesbury local policing area, said: “This was a despicable crime which was completely unprovoked. I am very pleased that the two offenders have been apprehended and I hope that the local community is reassured that this behaviour will always receive the most robust action.”
