We’ve put on a number of additional events to supplement the other good things going on and to help further drive footfall to Gloucester and give another reason to visit. The Aethelflaed celebrations (Gloucester’s Warrier Queen) was publicised on the National News and was a great spectacle for the City.
We helped drive a Folk Festival across the town and also the Pirate Festival. Businesses told us the Zip Wire right through the City Centre was great for trade and the Maze in Kings Square provided entertainment and increased dwell time and footfall. We trialled running a large outdoor screen in Kings Square for the Royal Wedding and FA Cup final day and whilst not hugely publicised, those that visited enjoyed, and it had a really good feeling around the area.
