Highlights for the Month.

  • 1stCPO Team assist with First Aid Incident in the City, helped a known male, and remained until Paramedics attend.
  • CPO Team made aware of known female who has concerns for welfare in place, known areas checked.
  • CPO Team see three females having a heated discussion on the Gate Streets, all parties spoken to and separated.
  • 2ndTwo teams on duty covering the City and Barton and Tredworth areas.
  • Known male Begging was spoken to on numerous occasions, report sent to Solace.
  • Concern for welfare raised for known male, CPO team locate male and checked on male’s welfare – checked all was in order NFA.
  • Female with CBO spotted in in the city, breach was crimed and reported.
  • Barton Team carry out visits to various businesses, engage with the community.
  • 3rd Carried out two welfare checks on people who were asleep or in a daze, both required no further treatment or help.
  • Attended several shoplifting offences, one female was detained in store and received a yellow card, the other was identified on CCTV, both were added to DISC.
  • Missing person located and police informed and picked him up.
  • 4th A prolific shoplifter detained by store security and CPOs, police were called, due to breaches and the stealing this individual was arrested by police.
  • Female was stopped by a store security for concealing items and attempting to leave without paying, a member of the public stepped in and paid for the goods.
  • 5th Team members of the CPO team attended a training session at the North Warehouse.
  • Assisted PCSO with a welfare check amongst a large group of street drinkers. Two were very drunk but were being looked after by some of the sober ones.
  • 6th Monitored known individuals around the city, preventing them entering city safe stores.
  • Removed several street beggars as they were getting a bit aggressive and were drunk, they were approaching members of the public.
  • 7th Two patrols on today. The Barton and Tredworth teams visited all stores that were open, offering advice and PPE equipment and signage, as necessary.
  • The city teams also checked all open stores, removed a group of young males who were causing issues at the Quays and stores in the city.
  • 8th Checked a stores CCTV for identification of individuals raiding the store bins in the evenings, also using the back door areas for a toilet.
  • Removed some street drinkers due to the noise level and urinating in a public place.
  • 9th Two patrols out today, the Barton and Tredworth team checked around all open stores in these areas, a few cases of people not wearing a mask but most stores Covid 19 compliant.
  • The city team monitored several known shoplifters around the town and checked in with the city safe stores.
  • 10th Removed street drinkers from a public area after a fight had broken out, bad language used in front of children.
  • Two young females removed from a city safe store for being rude to staff, they were advised against this action but seemed not to take notice.
  • Assisted two other females and got them home safely, they had complained they were being followed by an older male, police informed.
  • 11th Both teams out today, promoting Covid 19 testing to all businesses and to members of the public.
  • The city team were called to a store to check their CCTV to identify a pair who had stolen alcohol, both were known and reported to police and added to DISC.
  • 12th A male was found to be semi-conscious on a street bench, checks were made, and the male was found to be drunk, this male is known to the CPO teams. He refused any further support, was monitored by police CCTV.
  • 13thReports come through the radio system of a male in hospital greens acting in a strange manner around the town. This individual was spoken with by CPOs and he had been released and discharged that morning from GRH. He seemed to be happy to walk around as he was, he had a good thick coat so was warm enough. CCTV informed and will monitor him.
  • Attended a couple who were having a stand-up row in Market Parade. Both parties split up and calmed down, sent on their separate ways.
  • 14th Well known street beggar removed and reported to CCTV due to his aggressive begging.
  • The area around the front of St Michaels tower was cordoned off due to lumps of the building falling off into the public walkway.
  • 15th A known individual with a city ban removed from the city. He was reported for breaching his banning order.
  • Several cases of shoplifting reported, and individuals identified through CCTV. All details added to DISC.
  • 16th Two teams on today, the Barton and Tredworth areas were checked and there seemed to be a lot of reminders to wear masks.
  • In the city, removed many street drinkers from a public area, this was due to several of the males using an open area to urinate in with the public able to see.
  • 17th Assist the police in removing an individual from the Central hotel.
  • Two cases of removing drunk aggressive people from public locations, one individual was reported for a breach of a ban, the rest removed away from that area.
  • Two separate incidents of shop lifting, both people put on DISC.
  • 18th Two separate groups of street drinkers causing issues, one by St Lucy’s Garden and the other in the Cathedral grounds. Due to excessive noise, swearing and using any doorway as a toilet both groups were asked to leave the area. All details passed on to relevant agencies.
  • Visited the City Heart accommodation and engaged with some of the students, making sure of welfare and general issues.
  • 19th. Tasked by CCTV to check on the welfare of an individual asleep in a doorway in the centre of town. This person engaged with us; he is on medication but was ok. CCTV will monitor him.
  • Removed two individuals for begging aggressively in the city centre area. They were also reported via the DISC system.
  • 20th Two cases of shoplifting dealt with during the day, all items recovered, and both offenders added to DISC.
  • Broke up a fight between two groups, police in attendance and took over control of the incident.
  • Removed an aggressive male from a store, calmed him down and he left the area.
  • 21st Two patrols on shift today, the Barton and Tredworth patrol carried out welfare checks on stores, engaging with store staff and members of the public.
  • Noticed a marked change in attitude amongst some of the people regarding wearing of masks.
  • The city team had to remove a group of older males who had spent the morning causing issues around the town. They were asked to leave the city area as they were clearly dunk and causing issues to members of the public. Moved on and no further issues.
  • Dealt with three separate cases of shoplifting, all persons put on the DISC system and most of the items recovered and returned to stores.
  • 22nd Two cases of the same person on a carpark roof, assisted the police with containing and cordoning area off, female was talked down on both occasions.
  • Several cases of shoplifting dealt with, all items returned to store and arrested, all details added to DISC.
  • Attended an incident where a male was attacked and hit with a brick, the injured person decided to walk away before police could attend.
  • 23rd two patrols on today, the city team attended a street aware meeting regarding some of the homeless and street drinkers. This was attended by all agencies that deal with these people.
  • Attended to a first aid incident, checked over the individual and administered a small bandage to a cut hand, with the advice to go to a doctor to have it checked out correctly.
  • The Barton team patrolled the area and spoke with most of the open stores, they also met with some aggression from some of the stores regarding mask wearing, all concerns were passed over to correct agencies.
  • 24thMissing person located and passed onto CCTV for the police to pick her up.
  • Welfare concerns for a female, during checks realised the police need to be called to deal with the situation. Police took over this incident.
  • Deterred known shoplifters from entering city safe stores, information passed onto CCTV to monitor around the town.
  • 25th Two patrols were out again today, the Barton and Tredworth patrol visited all open stores in this area with mixed results for people wearing masks. The team also visited the friendship Café where the Covid testing is being carried out.
  • The city patrol visited all open stores and spoke with store workers and customers.
  • Removed a large group of street drinkers who were causing a nuisance around the arches in the Cathedral grounds.
  • 26th Patrolled all areas to look for a wanted individual, called into a store to identify a shop lifter from earlier that morning. His details have been added to DISC and police informed.
  • Helped a female who was having problems, spoke with the people who could assist her.
  • 27th Three separate incidents of shop lifting dealt with during the day, all stolen items returned to stores, all details have been added to DISC and police informed.
  • Two welfare incidents dealt with where other agencies were called to assist, all issues were resolved.
  • 28th Patrolled all city safe and BID areas, engaging with all open stores and members of the public.
  • There were two cases of homeless individuals requiring assistance, P3 were informed so will get to them and assist.
