Figflex acts as an incubator for small businesses looking to grow and, since the start of lockdown, has pivoted to suit the change in working habits. It has expanded nationwide with more growth planned and there are also big plans for its Gloucester site.
Centre Manager Mandy Sibley said, ‘The flexible market is popular now and business owners have seen how people can work differently. For example, people who used to work in the larger cities are now choosing to be more flexible with how many times they visit. We do so much in the sense that you can come and rent a desk for £14.99 a day.
Most of our homes aren’t geared up for working, so it’s great to be able to come into a business hub with everything already set up. We have networking groups for people to join, we offer events and want to become a business hub for people in the area.’
There are currently a range of businesses at the Gloucester FigFlex offices including a care company, equity group, pest control, solicitors, and a beautician.
Mandy said, ‘We have so much to offer here with larger than usual office space, a management team on the ground and on-site parking available. We also benefit from being on the historical Gloucester Docks with all the amenities nearby and we are really excited about the upcoming Food Dock and University of Gloucestershire campus coming into Kings Square to bring young people into the area.’
