The ethos of toy shop The Entertainer has always been about the importance of play and you can certainly find lots to play with in the Aladdin’s Cave of a store in Gloucester.

Located in King’s Square, the shop offers a massive range of toys for children and big kids alike. It’s one of over 160 of The Entertainer stores in the country with the aim of customers visiting, having fun, finding something to ‘Entertain’ their time and wanting to come back again and again.

Jo Knox has been manager at the Gloucester branch for two years and loves her job, she said, ‘I Love interacting with people. I’ve worked in retail since I was 16 and I enjoy spending time with the kids. They come in and they’re excited to see me; they explain to me what they want and I help them find things and if we’re playing with things, it’s nice to get them involved.’

Jo emphasises that The Entertainer focuses on the importance of play; how there is never anything too expensive and pocket money friendly. ‘Popular toys at the moment I would say are superheroes, Paw Patrol and fidget toys – push poppers which are basically glorified bubble wrap. They were promoted to help kids with concentration and anxiety – you can now find them everywhere.’

Popular toys this Christmas, Jo predicts will be Paw Patrol and LOL dolls. ‘We recommend starting Christmas shopping reasonably early as it can get a bit crazy. Our returns policy starts from October and you can return up to February.’

The Entertainer has regular offers with a clearance sale on at the moment. Click & collect is also available and you can order by 7pm for next working day delivery.

It’s also worth a visit for back-to-school to make sure little ones have everything they need with fun and practical accessories. These include, colourful crayons and pencils to back-to-school stationery sets from high-quality brands. You’ll also discover kids’ school backpacks and lunch bags in lots of awesome designs.

We definitely recommend a visit!
