Highlights for the Month 

    • 1stCalled to deal with several cases of shoplifting from city safe stores, Yellow cards issued, and details added to DISC.
    • Called to assist during a violent altercation where a female was assaulted. 
    • 2nd– Called to assist in removing a male refusing to leave an area after causing trouble.
    • Spoke with a young lady claiming she was being harassed and followed around the town, advised her to seek help via the police. CPOs escorted her to a place of safety.
    • 3rd Dealt with a known person who had been assaulted, he refused to contact police or receive medical help. Police were informed and CCTV monitored the area.
    • Removed a group of street drinkers from the St Mary Decrypt graveyard.
    • Called to assist with a shoplifter who got aggressive, he managed to get away before CPOs arrived, however was known to the team. All details given to the police and added to his profile on DISC.
    • 4th Called to identify two different shoplifters for city safe stores, IDs obtained, and all details now added to DISC. 
    • Two case of first aid given, one had an ambulance called and person taken to A&E, the other cleaned up by CPOs as he refused further help. 
    • A member of the public reported a street beggar being rude to people refusing to give him money. This person was spoken to and moved away from the area.
    • 5th Reported to police and helped searched for a missing person, found by police a few hours later.
    • Called to assist with two cases of shoplifting, all details added to the DISC system.
    • 6th Called to remove a drunk male from the library, who then returned later. He was led from the building and taken into the town centre, then onto the city mission.
    • Called to assist with a shoplifter, yellow card issued, and details added to DISC.
    • Removed two other people from city safe premises who refused to leave.  
    • 7th Called to assist with three cases of shoplifting during the day, all details taken and added to DISC.
    • Called to assist with a first aid case, elderly male fell over but sustained no injuries, was feeling very weak, he was taken home (in town) and handed over to the care manager of the home he lived in.
    • 8th Called to remove a customer who became aggressive to the store staff.
    • Recorded two breaches of CBO to police, and added all details to DISC. 
    • Stopped and dispersed a crowd of young females who were fighting in the city centre, all details logged with the police CCTV.
    • 9th Made a thorough check on all gate street areas and boundaries.
    • Called to assist with a habitual shop lifter, CPOs added the details for this offence, but found previous offences for this person are not being added by the store in question. 
    • 10th Called to assist with three separate cases of shop lifting offences, yellow cards issued, and details added to the Disc system.
    • Assisted the public who were dealing with a casualty who had fallen over and hit his head. Members of the public had sorted it out and stayed with him waiting for the ambulance.
    • Called to assist with a group of teenagers who were being a nuisance. One riding a bike inside of the centre.   
    • 11th Assisted in removing a drunk female from a city safe store and got her a lift back to where she was staying.
    • Assisted in tracing a female trying to exchange a £20.00note, this person was arrested by the police.
    • Called to identify two female shoplifters from the Quays area, information passed onto the police.
    • Assisted city safe stores with shoplifters, details passed to DISC.
    • Broke up several fights that had broken out with teenagers on Westgate Street.
    • Reported and assisted in looking for a missing young lady. All details passed to CCTV.
    • 12th Called to assist with two shop lifting offences, both known offenders.               All details added to DISC.
    • Called by a city safe shop owner to a fight occurring on Westgate Street, the fight was stopped and both parties separated, details logged with CCTV.
    • Called by CCTV to a fight between two females, this was over by the time CPOs arrived but dispersed the crown of onlookers. 
    • 13thCalled to attend to three cases of shoplifting, one person stealing under duress another who then tried to assault the security guard. All details logged and entered on DISC.
    • Called to attend a fight where a member of the public was assaulted for no reason by a drunk male. Police attended and arrested the drunk male.
    • 14th Called to assist with four cases of shoplifting, identification and retrieving stolen goods. All details have been added to DISC.
    • 15th Two of the known shoplifting offender’s was arrested by police.
    • One female arrested after being detained for shop lifting due to threats of violence against her.
    • 16th Called to identify a shoplifting offender, identification passed onto the police, all details added to DISC. 
    • Attended the train station to identify an individual who has been causing some issues there. Identification passed to police.
    • 17th Called to assist with a shoplifting offender in a city safe store. All details and information added to Disc and passed to police.
    • 18th Called to assist with two shop lifters throughout the day, both yellow carded and all details added to Disc and passed to the police.
    • Information was given on an individual who was caught on CCTV De-tagging after shopliftingAll information passed back to store and added to DISC.
    • 19th Assisted in a first aid incident. A lady had fallen over and banged her head. Ambulance was called and the lady taken in for observation.
    • Called to assist with two cases of shoplifting and deterring other known offenders during the day.
    • Called to attend two separate incidents with teenage groups fighting and causing trouble, police were called and the situations defused. 
    • 20th Called to deal with two incidents of young shoplifters, four females and one male. All details and incidents added to DISC. Police informed.
    • Removed and spoke to a drunk male who causing issues in the Transport Hub.
    • Monitored groups of teenagers around the town areas, police out in force patrolling all areas.
    • 21st Monitored youths all over town areas, several instances of anti-social behaviour by some. PCSO gave out eleven section 35 orders to leave town during the evening.
    • Several cases of removing drunks from areas, some very aggressive and police had to be called due to mental health worries.
    • 22nd called to assist with shoplifters, all issued yellow cards and details added to DISC.
    • A known offender with a CBO reported as a breach of order, he was seen and shoplifted from a city safe store. Police informed.
    • Attended to a report of large groups of teenagers causing anti-social behaviour, they were removed from the venues and then monitored by CCTV.
    • 23rd A young male who was causing some distress around the city was picked up by police as a missing person from North Yorkshire.
    • Dealt with a drunk male refusing to leave an area after an altercation with a group of teenagers. Police were involved with this incident.
    • 24th Called to attend a store due to two young female shoplifters. Details taken and parents informed. Police given all details.
    • Called to assist with breaking up a fight between two Females, the two were separated and made to go in different directions.  CCTV monitoring both parties.
    • 25th Involved in stopping a domestic argument that was becoming really aggressive, police called and took over, male arrested.
    • 26th Called to attend a city safe store as they had an aggressive male shoplifter
    • Called to assist with a male who was urinating outside one of the city safe premises.
    • 27th Called to deal with several cases of anti- social behaviour from a drunk in the transport hub and teenagers throwing liquid over people as they pass by.
    • Monitored and deterred well known offenders banned from entering city safe stores.
    • Called to assist with a shoplifter who had been detained, yellow card issued by the store and entered details are on DISC. 
    • 28th Called to identify a male shoplifter from CCTV footage following a store theft, he was known and all details entered onto DISC and police informed.
    • Assisted in a first aid incident, a male had been attacked, first aid given, and an ambulance called. 
    • Spoke with the case workers for the teenagers who were throwing liquid at passers-by early to come up with a partnership approach. 
    • Called to assist with the removal of groups from the eating venues in the City, some were already banned from the premises and some were removed for anti – social behaviour.
    • Called to assist a security guard to break up a fight between two female drunks. Police took over this incident.
    • 29th Dealing with youth anti-social behaviour throughout the day, removing them from stores and prohibited locations.
    • Two occasions dealing with people with mental health issues, having to escort them to places of safety.

£ 3,170.85 recovered stolen goods by CPOs in February 2020
