Gloucester BID is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Volunteer Coordinator & Welcome to Gloucester Ambassador to lead and support our friendly team of Welcome to Gloucester Ambassadors.
The Ambassador team are the welcoming faces of the city, offering a warm, informed greeting to visitors, residents, workers and students. They help people navigate Gloucester, promote local businesses and attractions, and deliver excellent customer service across the city centre.
This is a varied, people-focused role combining volunteer coordination, administration and frontline ambassador work. You will recruit, train and support a team of volunteers, manage rotas and practical needs, and work alongside Ambassadors at key locations and events throughout the year.
The role involves a mix of:
• Volunteer recruitment, training and support
• Administrative duties and reporting
• Working on shift as a Welcome to Gloucester Ambassador
Flexibility is required, as the Ambassador team supports major city events, busy periods and weekends.
Suitable for someone who is pro-active, approachable, and passionate about Gloucester, with experience of working with volunteers or in a customer service environment. You’ll enjoy leading a team, engaging with the public, and working outdoors in all weathers.
