Visitors to Gloucester city centre will soon notice four eye-catching new digital screens in place across King’s Walk and Eastgate Shopping Centre.
These portable displays represent the latest investment by the centres’ management company. They are designed to support event promotion, share key messages, and bring Gloucester’s key retail portfolio to life.
It’s not just retailers and shoppers who will benefit – charities and community groups based in the Gloucester area are being invited to take part, completely free of charge.
Each month, two local charities will be selected to showcase a 10-second clip on the screens, highlighting their event or cause to thousands of passers-by. Initially, the management team will select the first few groups to be featured. Thereafter, the choice will be put in the hands of the highly engaged social media communities across the retail & leisure portfolio.
Eligible groups must be based in a Gloucester postcode area and must not be promoting events taking place within competing retail and leisure portfolios.
William James, Marketing and Commercialisation Manager for King’s Walk and Eastgate Shopping Centre, said:
“This is such an exciting step for us. These screens will not only enhance the shopping experience but also help amplify the voices of brilliant local causes. We want the centres to be a true part of the community and this is a fun, modern way to do just that.
We know there are so many passionate groups doing important work right here in Gloucester. Giving them this kind of visibility is the least we can do. It’s all about making our spaces more inclusive, more useful, and more connected to the people who live here.”
Local charities interested in being featured should email colliers@seasononecomms.co.uk with their Gloucester postcode, a short summary of their event or cause, and a brief outline of what would appear in their 10-second clip.
Three of the screens were formally deployed for the first time yesterday, 24th June 2025. The fourth screen was deployed in early June to complement the Beatrix Potter clock parts display at the top of the escalators in Eastgate Shopping Centre. The first charity or community message will feature from 1 July 2025.
