Over 50 local employers have signed up to MP Richard Graham’s Futures Fair which takes place next Friday in partnership with Gloucestershire Employment and Skills Hub and the Job Centre.

Residents will be able to find job and volunteering opportunities and get advice on childcare, debt, and energy costs.

MP Richard Graham said: “This event is for anyone who wants to find work or the right support to move forward in employment, training or volunteering. If there is something holding you back, there’s support here to help find solutions. Come and see!”

Organisations backing the event include the NHS, Gloucester Rugby, Gloucester Food Dock, Renishaw, Hartpury and Gloucestershire Colleges and BAE Systems, with some offering on the day interviews or sign ups.

Jo Davis, Senior Employer, Partnership & Provision Manager at the DWP said: “We are really looking forward to working with our partners to offer advice, support and opportunities to the citizens of Gloucester. This event reflects the continued collaboration of our partners, working together to support the enhancement of skills, learning and careers. Whatever your current circumstances there will be something for everyone, with lots of advice and support on offer.”

To support those with additional needs the first hour (9:30am – 10:30am) will be quieter and a BSL interpreter will be on hand to support anyone with impaired hearing. A Ukrainian translator will also be available all day.

Cllr Philip Robinson, Cabinet member for Education and Skills at Gloucestershire County Council said: “I’m delighted that Gloucestershire County Council has sponsored this event. It promises to be an informative and inclusive day for anyone in and around Gloucester who is facing the challenge of finding employment alone. Along with 50 of our local employers, the council’s Employment and Skills team will also be on hand to help with tailored support, training and advice. I encourage anyone who thinks they might benefit to come along.”
