This morning, Gloucester City Safe and Gloucester BID welcomed 26 attendees to a Day Safe/Night Safe meeting at The Lord High Constable.

Representatives from Gloucester City Council, Gloucestershire Police, City Protection Officers, city centre businesses and security teams came together to discuss some of the key challenges facing our city centre. Topics included the visibility of police officers, anti-social behaviour (ASB), abuse towards staff and the use of Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs).

While the discussions highlighted a number of concerns and ongoing challenges, the meeting provided a valuable opportunity for partners to speak openly, share experiences and explore solutions together.

We are grateful to Gloucestershire Police for their input and willingness to engage with those working on the frontline every day. Just as importantly, the voices of businesses, security teams and city centre staff are essential in helping us understand the realities on the ground and shape future action.

By bringing partners together, we strengthen our collective response to the issues affecting Gloucester. Collaboration remains at the heart of Gloucester City Safe and Gloucester BID’s work, and by continuing to share knowledge and work together, we can achieve more for our businesses, visitors and communities.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to such a constructive discussion. Let’s keep these conversations going – look out for the date of the next meeting.
