One of Cheltenham’s hidden gems has moved to Gloucester!

Mister’s Café and Bistro, owned by Gloucester residents Mike and Rex, had outgrown its much-loved Cheltenham site and is due to open on Westgate Street on Wednesday 26th October.

The pair have been working on revamping the Gloucester premises since May and will be ready to welcome new and old customers for, ‘good quality food at a reasonable price’ along with Sunday carvery.

The fully licensed café bistro is expanding from 22 covers in Cheltenham to 42 in Gloucester. Customers were often turned away due to its sell-out popularly. The owners are excited about being able to offer a larger space for their renowned breakfasts, all-day brunches and Sunday lunches along with great service.

Rex said, ‘We are known for offering good quality food at a reasonable price in a comfortable setting. We are a fully inclusive café bistro in terms of what food we offer: with breakfasts including traditional vegan and gluten free. We also do a renowned ‘full English in a stuffed croissant’ – Can we fit a full English in stuffed croissant. yes we can!’ We also have pancakes, omelette and breakfast baps and a brunch menu served all day with our special homemade ‘secret recipe’ baked hash browns and Mister’s Bubble and Squeak.’

Along with breakfasts and brunch, lunch favourites will include open sandwiches, jackets and salads, ham egg and chips, lasagne, homemade shredded brisket, and a slow roast chicken, loaded chips, soup and traditional desserts. You can also expect a large choice of ice cream shake flavours and a new hot choc ‘ultimate.’

The popular Sunday Carvery is expected to launch early November.

Mike said, ‘We will be offering the same cosy and friendly atmosphere we had in Cheltenham. Mister’s is a place to come and off-load all your troubles: if I did bring a plate out it would take me 25 mins to get back to the kitchen because of chatting to people!’

Both Mike and Rex are foodies and are excited about building up their offer in the new Gloucester premises. Mike, who was born in the city, said, ‘I love Gloucester: I know where I am, and I love the people. I wish I could move all our Cheltenham customers here, although many say they will visit! This was meant to be.’
