For the sixth year running, Gloucester BID is transforming the city centre with stunning summer planters.
Over the coming weeks, more than 125 displays – ranging from hanging baskets and multitiered arrangements to boxed and barrier planters – will brighten up key areas such as the four Gate Streets, the Docks, the Transport Hub and Worcester Street.
Working with a local company, Idverde, these beautiful displays will feature more than 1,000 plants and shrubs, creating a colourful, inviting atmosphere throughout the summer.
Emily Gibbon, manager at Gloucester BID says “We love brightening up the streets of Gloucester with these annual displays. Bringing in vibrant colours and nature to make the streets more attractive to both residents and visitors.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll see these displays cascading over the containers and will come alive with colour. We have so many wonderful places to visit, shop and eat in our city, making it a more attractive place to come and visit is important to the local economy.”
With many big events taking place this summer, including The Lions At Large Trail, Art In The City, Moomins 80 and Rhythm & Blues Festivals, the city will be bustling with activity and now blooming too!
