Gloucester City Council are currently operating two grant schemes for eligible businesses who have been severely financially affected by the national lockdown 05 November 2020 – 02 December 2020.

Local Restrictions Support Grant

Businesses instructed to close by Government in the national lockdown (05 November – 02 December 2020) may be entitled to a one-off support grant under the Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) Addendum scheme.

To be eligible for the Local Restrictions Support Grant, your business rated property must be in the Gloucester City Council area and fall under one of the categories on the government’s list of businesses forced to close. Please note that if the majority of your business has been forced to close but you are operating a takeaway or click and collect service, you may still be eligible for a grant.

Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) application window for this grant is open until midnight on 09 December 2020

The Additional Restrictions Grant – will be payable as a one-off payment to businesses severely financially affected by COVID, during the national lockdown between 05 November 2020 and 02 December 2020

Who is eligible?

Businesses to be considered for this grant are:

Businesses forced to close as a result of the national lockdown as outlined in the government guidance, but who are not business ratepayers, but who have relatively high fixed ongoing building related property cost

OR

Businesses that remain open with relatively high ongoing fixed costs (including, but not restricted to, building related costs) which have been severely financially impacted by the national lockdown

AND meet the local priority of:

  • Businesses that supply retail, hospitality, leisure or businesses in the events sector
  • Market traders, affected by the lockdown or who have had to close due to circumstances beyond their control
  • Nurseries (if in receipt of business rates nursery discount) who have seen a significant fall in income due to COVID and lockdown
  • Self employed persons with no recourse to the Self Employed Income Support Scheme (SEISS) or other government COVID specific help schemes, who can demonstrate a significant loss of income as a direct result of the National Lockdown in November / December 2020
