Gloucester City Council asks its residents ‘What matters to you?’

Gloucester residents have until Friday, March 8 to submit their ideas, which will contribute towards a policy proposal project.

The Overview and Scrutiny Committee at Gloucester City Council is asking residents for their help to review and develop council policies over a period of four to six months.

A group of city councillors will look into a council service or policy by gathering information from other organisations and councils. Local people will also have the opportunity to make suggestions as to how they think Gloucester could be improved. Past projects have included raising the standard of private rented housing, flood recovery and the sale of high strength alcohol.

Councillor Paul James, Leader of Gloucester City Council said:  “As a Council, we are always looking to hear what’s really important to the public so we can use our resources to achieve what they want to see. We look forward to hearing what ideas our residents have.”

Councillor Tom Coole, Gloucester City Councillor for Matson and Robinswood and chair of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee, said:  “We are very keen to hear from those who live or work in Gloucester, to hear their ideas of what the Overview and Scrutiny Committee could look at in a detailed way. This is a great opportunity for councillors and the public to work together to improve the lives of the people of Gloucester.”
